He was a true hero, and they had his funeral right outside my apartment.

Okay, I'm just starting to read all the epic archive and stuff and this made me go 'aaah'.
See, I'm a vague relative of Smokey's and I was at the funeral and all. He really was all that awesome (though I barely ever saw him, I was THAT vague). Much love, man.
