- ... I'll give you beer...? Just to clarify, I didn't quit my job at the Energy Wise, I'm just doing a temporary transfer to another division in order to get a rounded EIT experience. I'm really excited about the position!! But to do it, Trevor and I have to move to Mission, which is only an hour outside of Vancouver, but note how it still means I will be dead to my friends ;D

I have to say I really love the artwork lately. It is just so vibrant and fun!
LOL - Jam, I moved from Surrey to Cultus Lake.. and only ONE of my friends visited me in the six years since. Hope your friends are more willing to commute :D
HA HA! Wow, this must be the first time Mission has been mentioned in..well...anything, really. I assume you'll be working at Stave Falls? Good luck on your move! I lived there for eighteen years, but there's not a lot to do. :<
oh noes! not moving! Didn't you just do that a few months back? O_o
@kaitco - Thank you!! I've been working hard to improve my environments and stuff. For example, this whole conversation took place at my computer, but that would be boooooooring. But I often use MSN on the seabus, so I moved the conversation there, I think it really improved the strip :)
@Cady - Yep! Stave and a few others around that area. I'm more worried about Trevor being bored in Mission than myself. I have comics to draw :D
And yeah, I move a LOT, it's the bane of my existence =_=... I've moved twice in the last year and a half, and we'll have to move BACK in September!! The plan is to actually buy a place in Van and [strikeout]NEVER MOVE AGAIN[/strikeout] hopefully stay there a few years.
What kind of phone is that you are using, Jammy? It almost looks like the enV, but also it kind of looks like... Well, any phone that is like the enV, so in other words, enV, enV 2, Voyager...
P.S. I like how you are the only cartoonish person in the first panel... Everyone else looks so... Human ish. You look like a cute litte cartoon! VERY FUN!!!
Hey, kinda like my job! (USN)
Holy jeez, Jam--your suitcases are gonna be JAM-PACKED! Har, har.
(Yes, as a (very) long-time reader I registered JUST for that pun. =D)
As a resident of the good 'ol fraser valley.. let me say.. skip mission, move to Maple Ridge. It's at least in the middle of everything. :D
xD I have never moved so I do not know your pain... I can Only say... Enjoy.
@}Zoinac
And being in the middle of everything it a good thing!
@ Jam:
Uhm, just to prep myself mentally for the future...
Are you the only one moving so frequently, or do ME's in general pack shop and move on a drop of a dime?
I just read that you're going to the New England Webcomics Weekend! Yay! I'm going to meet so many of my favorite cartoonist (including YOU) there!
I wish more of the cartoonists would be here in Az... also I REALLY wish i had thought up packing parties when i had to move
Beer you say. Ah the motivator of any friend who stumbles about with their reply to, "Help me move."
@Xelmon - that's a really good question, actually. With engineering, especially ME, you *can* travel and move a lot. But it's not mandatory, it's in your control. You can choose a job where you don't travel or move at all. Sometimes, there's a career advantage to moving, as i9n this case. You have to decide if it's worth it, it won't be forced. My dad moved our whole family x-country multiple times to change jobs, but he has also resisted moving quite a few times. The positive flip-side of this is if you need or want to move anywhere in the world, you can probably find an engineering job.
This may be sort of random, but at least it's related to the comic. What kind of phone do you have, Jam?
A few people have asked: the phone is an HTC Touch Pro. I got mine in January, and I love it. I wanted a keyboard b/c I use it to write emails, comment replies, and even blog posts!
PS: aj2x, I love your avatar! :)
@ Jam
Find a job at any place? Even in such harsh times of the economy?
Another Q... How much of the stuff *do* you end up using when it's all said and done?
I didn't say it would be *easy*, but yes. There's still a tech crunch in a bad economy. As for what you use, it really depends on the industry and the job. All jobs need an "engineering sense" and background knowledge, others need you to open your textbooks on a weekly basis.
Not going to lie, mission gets pretty terrible service from translink... :P I'd totally come to a "help pack" party
Huzzah! I've finally gotten into my account!! Thanks, Jam!
Also adding: your phone is -awesome-
Qwerty ftw!
@ Jam:
Oh yeah, no question about easiness. Hell, Germany is engineer central, and even there the times are so rough that people are taking out their frustration by burning stuff that the wealthy own.
and when you come back, you'll be a zombie
:3
I just love the wallpaper . Thanks ,Jam
Yaaaay. I have a HTC Touch Diamond! ...And hate it :( I can't get games into it, not even the simplest of GBA emulators.
Uh..Hi!I just started reading the comic today, and I gotta say, these pages look really stellar!I especially like the colouring and style! All of it looks really nice and is very much likeable with all the marker-colouring and little tid-bits in the panels.Super-nice!I'll keep on reading for sure!
