The best directions I could give were "Get out of the forest... then make a left." That same day we had someone ask us where Stanley park was. ... while in Stantley park!
Everywhere from May to September is "Japanese Tourist Season". Not in a bad way or anything, I welcome any and all to visit our beautiful city, but it's so *noticeable* it's funny :D

It's where the streets are!
Oiy man, it can get murderous around Gastown. Aika'll agree with me, the steam clock is one of the top places to avoid while you're out and about during tourist season... Not that I mind, really, I don't spend much time in Gastown :P
Reminds me of my brother getting lost in Vegas. He was leaving an arcade trying to get to the hotel on the SAME STREET. He needed to turn left out of the doors, he went right. For about a mile.
i dont know how people get lost, i have never been lost, or at least never that lost
a friend once told me of how she likes to take adventure by getting on random trains to random places, and asjed me to do they same.
i then laughed and said ok.
.....
I didn't go.
I have been asked for so many directions by Japanese tourists this month, it's an all time record. A few weeks ago I was on a bus in West Vancouver and some Japanese tourists wanted to know where Lighthouse Park was... I didn't know, but this British tourist next to us gave them directions. Only in Vancouver.
Added after 8 minutes:
@Rhia: Oh man, I *do* agree. I can't remember if we were together that time, but I once saw 30 tourists all crowding around the steam clock, just staring at it and taking pictures. "Oh my god, it's a CLOCK! GET THE CAMERA!" ... and some Vancouverites on the patio nearby were taking pictures of the tourists and laughing at them xD

(Google image searches for the clock)
Well it IS a pretty handsome clock. AND it's steam-powered! Who wouldn't wanna take a picture of it? (I's a big steampunk fan :3 )

Everything I know is a lie!
I actually got this joke! And I miss Vancouver. *sobs*
"Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot them?"
Well O knot actually...but sometimes...>_>
GAbryl-Kaine: AGREED! *lives in Miami, FL*
And no, not just sometimes.
the color =win. i'm glad color is regular, but it not being updated as frequently is a big downside... oh well.
i can only get lost insede. well, most of the time. golden rule is, the more walls and ceilings and floors, the lost-er I am. :3
