Oh god, that's a horrifying image. Not so much putting it on in the first place, but if that glue works half as well as skin as it does on rubber, the extraction process when you get to the hospital would be *awful.*

I'm.... I'm sorry. @_@ As a new cyclist I haven't yet had to use a patch kit. Thinking of it while reading your reply made a squirm a bit though. Heh

I have used my leg on the falling side to cushion a fall when I've had to fall over on my road bike. This assumes not much forward motion. I flex my leg outward such that it hits the ground first. It cushions the fall a bit and helps prevent hitting my head on the ground.
