lol, i had a similar problem at school, there were too many seans so i got named gibbles.i dont know why. although new guy would be kewl, but the other two seans joined after me so i wouldof actually been called old guy...
I know the feeling, in our LAN group, I'm just Bean. (It's my last name). I actually don't mind. People have been calling me Bean for 20 years.

I want to say that Angie rocks for putting me in a comic and as lame of a story as me gaining the name Newguy is, I like it. Simple boy, simple pleasures.

It is for the same reason that Andrews on campus were Corbin (last name), Mac Andy (had a Mac), Boter (my gaming handle), maybe a few others. Matts were Matt (sometimes Matt Moss), Bednar (last name), Spaz (gamer handle), Spiro (gamer handle), and maybe a few more.
Meanwhile, at an Anime Club meeting, a random person was chosen for a position. He was pointed to - "How about that guy?" That Guy was... eh, an interesting character who stuck around for a while. Kid On The Left was named in a similar fashion and only stuck around for one semester.
My first name is Jeff, so it's very common as well. During one RPG though, I gained the nickname Waffles (long story), and now it's been used so much that I have family who refer to me by that name. :3
There are so many other Joshua's out there I know at least 10 other than myself.
