How funny. Living in Phoenix is the exact same way. Fitst question is always "Where are you from?" Its amazing when someone says, "I'm from here."

Same for where I live then again all the locals are leaving because the New Yorkers are ruining our quaint City that was made as a Winter resting spot between tours for Ringling and Barnem and Bailey Circuses The place is a Circus town that had an Amazing Artistry works that got destroyed or ruined for the name of PROGRESS as the New Yorkers say. eh the city is going to hell and it's becoming a Heat magnet which means it's going to attract a hurricane. (New Yorkers haven't quite put together the more bigger buildings are put in the more heat generated and that Hurricanes like Heat (kinda why Miami gets hit a lot) )

I really have to question this statement. Hurricanes are attracted to warm water, not warm cities. Besides, New York is already bigger than Miami. Miami gets hit by hurricanes so often because it is at the very end of Florida, which juts out into the middle of lots of warm water. Size of the buildings has nothing to do with it.

Sarasota and miami are coastal cities Florida is Natural Humid you will feel like you got sucker punched in the lungs if you come to it from a arid climate and since florida is so humid and buildings generate so much heat there is this thing called transpiration that happens. hurricanes are attracted to warm water but once they hit land they are going for the place that can generate them to most transpiration in there path. Louisiana demonstrated that (not the flooding (that was just poor engineering on that side not a lot to do with hurricane other then it proved that they were poorly built)) that it's going to follow the best source it can get at the time. as far as newyork goes why doesn't a hurricane hit it tho it has similar problems oh yeahs it's in the northern hemisphere and thus has much cooler weather around it. where as florida is near the Equator.

Hmmmm... I've read several comments stating that going south (generally to Florida) is very uncomfortable due to the humidity.

Why is it, then, that when I go to somewhere like Italy, France, Germany, or even London, I don't notice the air being much different?

Unless, of course, it's cold which makes breathing a little strange for a few hours, then it goes away... At least this is in London. Not a place I'd like to live, personally.

I'm originally from Vancouver and still live here. I hope to never move away. It is my favourite <3

Ok, I'm sorry, but look at dood's shirt. Now look at it upside down.

Wierd thing is, I almost typo'd the word "shirt" as a synonym of dood upside down. I also just heard the my almost typo's word word on tv twice as I typed this!
