- Obviously there's lots of corporate slang, but these are terms that I didn't hear before coming to Energy Wise.

Hello... another one linked from QC... and now hooked on Wasted Talent :P Out of pure curiosity, why did you decide to give your character a nose? Methinks you were cuter without one... that might just be me though. And that sounds REALLY weird now that I think about it. "Oh you were cuter before you had a nose..." Imagine saying THAT in real life. :P Anyhoo enough of my rambling, take care xxx
Hey Jam, i was also linked from QC, i just spent all day reading the 380+ strips here. Murrr, brain dead....
Cant believe i'll have to wait a month or so for another.
Meh, i'll survive.
I really, really, really hate when people say "let's take it offline". We're in an office. Why not just say "talk about it in private" or something? That is total misuse of geek terminology!!! -_-
Yup, those are good ubiquitous business-speak phrases. One I like is "I don't have the bandwidth to do that." Learned that one at an IT company a dozen years ago, and still find it useful.
hehe, the last panel happens at schools too.
one question, why does he have a "#1 mom" mug?
Your comic looks so professional lately! (and you look professional in it!). And the jokes seem... somehow more like professional comic jokes.
I like Slang. Heheh Especially when you confuse people from other countries with it xD YAY
@dranorter - thanks! And yeah I have to be in a professional environment most of my waking hours now so that's just the natural way of things.
@kernalphage - I was wondering if anyone would notice. :)
@ Althiuen - Welcome :) You won't have to wait a month! I've started posting weekly, and while I'm not so good at nailing it down to a particular day, I'm doing ok at getting them weekly.
@ FunnyLittlePixie - Welcome, also! I was cuter without a nose, I agree. I started drawing myself without one out of laziness. But after 5 years I realized that it didn't make sense? I actually have a pretty big nose! Also, after experimenting with the design, I think it makes me look a bit older.
YAY :D
Happy times for all!
*does a dance*
Hahaha.
I can't tell it's Jam without having the word on on Jam's shirt.
Jkay
Let's make a deal then Jam, draw a comic without noses next time, then one with a nose for the one after that and so on :D
@ Jam
A big nose, you say? *squints at photo* =____= I see no big nose here... I agree though, you do look older with a nose. (More weird commentary... >_>)
Do your work fellows call you Jam, or just personal friends and fans? And don't worry about facial features, we are all different. I am going bald, been losing the sexy locks since I was 16, and my wife has been going silver since she was 14. Don't be self conscious of it. People like that end up getting their face mutilated.
@omniwarrior:
Just Trevor and people on the internets :)
I've followed the strip for a while, but I finally read the entire archive through from start to this comic. Just wanted to say that it rules and I really enjoyed seeing it develop into what it is. Awesome work.
"you can either get aboard or get off the tracks either way we're moving forward."
The owner of Sheetmetal Hell (motto: we will destroy you, and your little dog too!) was fond of that phrase.
He also used dozens of nautical metaphors, and was fond of saying his ship couldn't sink... Until SOMEONE started making Titanic jokes. :D
Yes I was "forced overboard" but hey I was the only one to get a life-boat!
...swear to God I've never seen a ship slam into an iceberg, double back and hit it again on the other side then back into it. :D
I am totally in love with that shade of green you used for the title. I love aqua/teal/turquoise.
Jam! I'm a big fan :D I bought your cloudscape comics for my friend's birthday! I hope they'll arrive in time (two weeks)!
@mel, I hope so too, they are sent :D
Hiii! My friend showed me your comic the other day and I was hooked from the first one @_@ Do you have anything else I can view/read? PS I love the whole "Colour" thing. It's awesome! Ignore my spelling by the way, I'm an Aussie ;)
"Drinking the Koolaid" always seemed like an immensely callous euphemism to me. Comparing a belief in a corporate agenda to mass suicide by poisoning seems a tiny bit melodramatic. But then again, there's plenty of melodramatic people in any corporation.
Besides, they drank Flavoraid at Jonestown.
You never heard someone say that they "think" they remember something before?
I love the panel division(s?) in this comic! It looks great, does its job, and its supercool ;)
@Spojjie, I have some older comics archived at spikecomix.com and some new short stories that are in anthologies. I'm glad you like it!
@TheKarpuk: yeah I thought it was callous too, but I didn't make it up :/
Oh man! My boss (who loves bureaucracy) uses some of these! Particularly the "Take if offline" one. He also likes to begin sentences with "in terms of"... regardless of what follows--like "In terms of... do you have that report?"
Did Red start working with you? J/K but the guy that 'remembers' your e-mail does look a lot like Red.
Yeah I tried so hard to invent a bunch of people who look nothing like any of my co workers and I accidentally drew one that does look quite close to Red. I guess I miss the guy :(
@Jam yeah i was wond3ring about that
