A lot of people have asked me since I started this job: What are the differences between a big corporation and a startup? Well, administrative things like this are a major one. At EnergyWise, expenses were a NIGHTMARE. Every year, they somehow figured out a way to "improve" the system that made it ten times worse. It was complicated, obtuse, and overkill. It got to the point that I would not start an expense report for anything under $100, it just wasn't worth the effort.
