I'm always amused when I catch someone doing this in a meeting...
Comments
Aw, you're just a bunch of semi-obsessive compulsives!
Thank you for this; NO ONE UNDERSTANDS MY PAIN!! xD
Pages are meant to be aligned, otherwise they wouldn't have straight edges and 90-degree corners. Period. Never trust a slim cook, never trust a computer that's too heavy to lift, and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER trust anyone with messy paper placement...
Thank-you, Jam, for bringing this difficult conversation to the table.
I disagree with the computer statement. Not trusting a computer that's too heavy to lift means you trust neither servers nor supercomputers. If you don't trust servers, you don't trust the internet itself (as opposed to not trusting other users thereof, which is common sense). And yet you use the internet....
Of course, I'm someone who plans to build a fully networked semi-robotic house when I have the necessary finances, so my opinions may be somewhat mad.
Exactly... there's many things I use that shouldn't be trusted. The electric company, my PVR, the watch that resets to some sort of atomic clock thingy... Google, which seems to be predicting my thoughts, organizing my calendar, locating the nearest whatever to my current location, and finding me a coupon for it all... before I'm even finished typing.
<shudders and goes to check his stockpile of dehydrated mashed potatoes and defences...>
I am ashamed to admit that I contribute to this problem every once in a while. Most of the time I am determined to fix it, however.
Why be ashamed of it? I do it on purpose - far more fun!
And no I'm not determined to fix it at all. I grew out of that years ago. Fortunately OCD is something that can tame itself over time, but unfortunately it never goes away completely.
It's a good job (or shame) I can't post a picture of the current state of my workshop. You guys would have an absolute fit!
My first thought was "Great minds think alike" :)

Sorry for the double post! (these comments had somewhat confusing behaviour with the Opera browser and a lousy connection)
This is me as well, when playing D&D with my friends, I have to have all of my dice arranged by type and then lined up with all of them on 1.
Why 1? Get them used to having the max number on top!!
=D
I keep an oversized d20 on my desk at work... always with 20 on top. Gotta think positive! Although it's hard NOT to be positive at my desk... along with that d20 I have a little, plastic, dancing flower, an inflatable palm tree, and a mass of Hello Kitty paraphernalia, including more than a few plushies. I'm pretty sure my co-workers think I'm still 12.
Back when I used to fly a desk, I used to keep a large hammer on top of it. Sometimes people asked what it was there for. I just used to give them a bit of a look, and point out that ultimately, I could fix most things with it...
Think I might have you on g33k cred, there. Last desk job I had, when I was working calls (most of my day was talking to clients or lenders, so this was likely 6 hours or so a day), I'd be leaning back in my chair, playing with two yo-yos at once, palming one long enough to one-hand notes or entries into my machine.
The desk itself had somewhere along the lines of 20 yo-yos on it at all times, from the venerable Duncan Butterfly to the outrageously technologically advanced and expensive "killer bee", which rode on a pair of bearings that cost about $40 per pair to replace, once used up (but those bearings saved a lot on broken strings, and yo-yos flying down the hall)
Add my ecclectic decorating (Commemerative MMO character statuettes, comic book figurines, Warhammer models, and the helmet for my SCA Mongol warrior persona (I like the furry hatz)), and, well, when I left that office for another job, it looked like I'd been to a million-geek yard sale.
Another example!

I do this with the stack of Calc Quizzes when I hand mine in every week. I think the professor is slightly greateful that I usually am one of the last people to hand them in.
