You may have noticed that the order of comments is the opposite from what it was on the old site. Currently they now show newest to oldest.

I was wondering which people prefer.

You can actualy change the way the comments are ordered with the comment controls below the last comment.

Would it be possible to have the comic comments go one way and the rest of the forum comments go the other way?  Maybe I'm just crazy and no one else wants that, but I like being able to go to the main comic page and read the latest comments, and when viewing a thread I like reading the oldest posts on top.

It's not a huge deal for me, and I'm sure you have other more pressing things to work on.  Thank you for all the work you put into this site.

well you can change the comic comments order yourself with the "Date - XXXXX first" drop down box under the comments.

But as far as the default I dunno which to choose. For users that visit often its nice to see the newest one first. But if you are someone new or viewing a comic in the archive for the first time, it makes more sense to show the oldest first so one can read the comments in order.

I have disabled the comic comments on the homepage for now, for performance reasons, there is just a link to view the comments off the homepage.

We also need to decided wether or not to keep threaded commenting. I kinda like it, but it does present a usability problem. The newest comments can sometimes not be at the bottom, so you have to scan through the entire page for any new comments that are nested.

I highlight new comments in red to make this easier, but its still not as easy as looking at the end of a thread. It also gets harder if the comments are more than one page, you might not even know which page the new comment is on.

This makes simple flat comments A-B simplier and why they are more commonly used.

For some reason, the tabs at the top of the screen aren't working for me. Might be my vintage Maxthon browser, but they worked on the old site.

And the picture of me in the Characters section is appalling. I'm mailing you something that's less cringe-worthy.

And I can't post on the other forum that looks set up intentionally to deal with bugs.

What do you mean by not working? They don't display at all? They are positioned weird? The rollovers don't work? They are viewable but not clickable?

I can see the buttons, but they have a thin white line across the bottom - cutting off the very bottom of the letters. The mouse cursor doesn't change when it hovers over, and clicking does nothing.

can you take a screenshot? You can upload images to comments, by clicking the arrow in the top right of the comment box.

What browser are you using, maxthon with IE7!!? maybe time for an upgrade ;) But would like to find and fix the problem none-the-less.

Hovering the cursor over the tabs doesn't change the icon.

I know I should update my browser, but I lost Google Chrome for no apparent reason one day, so I'm scared of changing a browser that works (usually).

ahh ok thanks! I figured out how to run IE8 in IE7 mode and i'm able to re-produce this problem, so now I will try and fix it.

The site seems to look and function the same in IE8, Firefox 3.x and Chrome. I guess i need to test some older browsers too.

I did notice and I like the new way much more.  It's good to know that there's an option to change it though
