Omg. 6am, I'm pretty softcore. I ended up at the end of the line, pretty much, at Future Shop. They cut off ahead of me. I gave up hope and went to EB Games, where an unexpected line for the Wii was there, as they originally announced they'd have no extra systems.
I went for it immediately.
After much waiting in line, I got into the store, picked up my Pre-ordered games and the Wii. It was the Fourth last Wii that was not pre-ordered.
:D I'm so happy. They didn't have enough Red Steel in stock for me to get it. But Zelda, Monkey Ball, Call of Duty 3 and Trauma Center should suffice until then. :3
The Wii's great so far. The sensor is pretty accurate, though there can't be anything between the remote and the controller. As promised, it is able to sense it if you twist the remote and all that. Just pure awesome.
And unlike the DS, it is able to deal with WPA T-KIP encryption (along with a lot of others).
トランジスター・グラマー: Small and compact but has all the right features.
Twilight Princess is really awesome so far (which is good, since I was only able to buy just the one game). The Wii-mote is perfect for Zelda, and the new sword controls are way more practical than I thought they would be. I can really appreciate why they did it, too: with the B-trigger freed, sub-weapons are much easier to use than they would if they were controlled with the D-Pad.
It's also is the first Zelda I've ever played that actually has a pretty compelling story. Midna is my favorite character, can you tell? She's a way better support character for Link than any other before her. Ocarina's Navi was infamously annoying, Majora's Tatl was way too obnoxious (but wasn't as loveable as Midna to make up for it), and Windwaker's King of Red Lions was just sort of boring. I'm really looking forward to finding out her motives.
Has anyone seen the leaked screenshots of you-know-who yet? Can't wait until that part of the game :D
I'd really like to hear more impressions of the system as a whole from you both :)
I'm not buying one until about June, but I'm still very excited about it ^_^
<3 Jam
If you want another impression, Wii-Sports is enough to warrent a purchase for the system and an extra controller.
Zelda doesn't need to be on the Wii, you wiggle the controller instead of pressing a button to swing the sword, but it is nice for aiming the projectile weapons. Lots of the other games use the controller a lot better, but this is Zelda, it doesn't matter.
I do wish there was a chatroom to go with the e-mailing you can do from it, and the Opera browser isn't up yet. Also, the downloadable games selection is very slim, but it has the original Zelda, the first Sonic, and Mario 64, so it's well on it's way to being perfect.
I'd recommend it over a 360 or a PS3, all your losing is some graphic capiblities. It's also much cheaper, although getting controllers can be expensive, but at least you won't have to pay for a Gold Account to play games!
Oh, and the new Wii games can't use GameCube controllers.

If you know who is Ganon(dorf)
I've seen the pics of him out of the Players Guide. He more or less looks the same as he did in WW except in TP detail.
Final Fight Order (I'll have to re-read to guide to make sure but it should be close to this.)
Ganon's Puppet Princess Zelda. (Yes you will have to beat the crap out of Zelda)
Ganon (a Nonanthromophic Giant Boar)
Ganondorf (Horseback battle in Hyrule Field)
Ganondorf (one on one combat)
I *seethe* envy :-o I have long awaited the Wii, and have heard everything about it... apparently someone I know has it, although the chances of me getting in contact with it are minimal
Moof~
Okay, I've put in 11 hours of Twilight Princess. Based on what I've heard, I'm around... 1/7 of the way there. lol
If the stories about the game's length are true, than this is without a doubt the longest Zelda ever. Normally I would be about half-way done by now, or at least one-third. Not that I'm complaining. :D
I'm loving all my games.
Trauma Center's remake is nothing short of incredible. And it has a really badass opening this time too.
Zelda plays great. Midna is by far the best character ever.
Ever. It's kind of creepy hearing the laugh suddenly come out of your Wiimote.
Call of Duty 3 manages to be incredibly engrossing. Despite being a multi-console, it makes really good use of what the Wii has to offer. From simulating a driving wheel, to making you actually paddle and the few intense melee fights can get pretty tiring, for better or worse (I think better).
Red Steel's just a fun B Action game, as far as I'm concerned. LA Gangsters and Yakuza with M4 shotguns, Uzis and PP9's running around. Ability to blow shit up, environments especially (like cars). Men in towels bursting out of sauna stalls holding shotguns. Random Weeaboo Japanese.
Super Monkey Ball exceeds my expectations. Packing 50 party games, though the actual rolling game is single player only, disappointingly enough. But still plenty of fun.
Wii Sports is fine too. The game's pretty fun. I'm sure it's just amazing multiplayer.
I'm not sure how portable the system is though. The Sensor bar worries me, as far as the issue of moving it around goes. But it seems alright. If I lived in a more convenient distance from you Angela, I'd offer you a try.
Though I suspect you're too busy anyways. :\ But any interest will be well recieved.
I'll be getting my other three controllers (courtesy of my mother) sometime soon, and hopefully the component video cable in much the same time span.

Mmm... WarioWare.
AAAGh it looks so sweet! D:!! Time for games, where art thou??

No one has time for games.
They simply make it at the risk of ruining their lives.
And love every second of it.

I really want to be there when the weight of the world crushes your spirits. When you find out that high school is the most free time you are ever going to have. Co-op comes close, but has its own set of headaches.
Lol, I'm not talking about myself.
High Schoolers aren't people.

guys, I played it today, I can't get it out of my system. It was pure unfettered joy! Unfettered I say! I really don't have the money to get one...but I might buy it anyway. Goddamnit that system grabbed me good.
It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!
Just starve for a while.
You'll thank yourself.

I just traded in a bunch of old games and got around 162 bucks *Thank god for cd-burners >> and friends who already own the same games* so now all I'm waiting for is the Wii, Zelda, and Trauma Centre to come in stock at EB. I got the rest of the money for christmas, but because we don't celebrate it normally (parents used to live in communist state) they don't care that much about when gifts = openz. NOW TO WAIT =(
BTW anyone have ANY idea when Nintendo is shipping more?
There's no real schedule. It'll just depend on you checking in as often as you can, and really grilling the guys at the counter.
トランジスター・グラマー: Small and compact but has all the right features.
Holy crap! Supposedly this sunday, dec. 18th, there's some coming in! I gotta find my camping stuff now >>
Gunstar Heroes is now available on the Virtual Console, guys. I'm hoping once all those promised Genesis and Turbografx-16 games are accounted for, we'll finally get Super Mario RPG and Super Metroid.
Yeah, I got that just last night.
Total rox. I'm also playing Bomberman '93.
トランジスター・グラマー: Small and compact but has all the right features.
Actually, I taked to one of Utah's Nintendo reps, there is a sort of schedual to their shipments. They had three waves planned, the lauch, the first Sunday of December, and one sometime before, but near, Christmas.
So how many people know friends who are getting this? Suprising few in my circle, I'm the only one getting it and everyone else seems to just want to come over =P
I know one who does, and few people at school who are like, "omg, cool!".
A large number are only getting it for Super Smash too. :o What a waste.
トランジスター・グラマー: Small and compact but has all the right features.
Ugh EB games got it today and sold out. They never even bothered to say they were getting it today either. I talked to one of the guys on the phone, who was suprisingly nice, and it turns out that they actually knew. Hopefully the Park Royal EB got the shipment but because of the power outage didn't open so there's a few left
Also, just for SSB:B? THAT'S SUCH A WASTE :? I mean of course they'll try other games, it's that addictive and good, but I mean come on!
With the hours I've gotten out of Melee, I doubt dropping $300 soley for Brawl would be a waist.
Basically everyone in my circle of friends already has one. This holiday season I've seen a big change, the adult (read: parents) and female games starting to come out; it's weird seeing women playing games at FYE's in-store kiyosks(sp?). This isn't all because of the Wii or anything, but the Wii is pulling in a ton of new gamers.
Well not a waste, but the idea itself seems kind of ehhh-ish because it's not the win-all game. I personally loved it, but I never owned it for my GC, I just went over to my friends house to play it whenever I really wanted to.
EDIT: Nevermind, I got my Wii. Turns out the guy was a real asshole though who sold the consoles as there were obviously 10+ but he only sold 3 of them. Incidentally, he checked the stock list, called a few people, then opened the store. Hmmm... manager favorites? I'm gonna see if I can get my best friend one though, he wants it like a fat kid wants cupcakes.
Yeah, personally, I really feel like Nintendo's goal of tapping a practically untapped market is working. The whole "Wii" concept. Which is good, knowing I didn't put faith in Nintendo's marketing department to be disappointed.
トランジスター・グラマー: Small and compact but has all the right features.
I touched the Wiimote for the first time at a EBgames demo (myes I know I'm behind the times but when you KNOW you can't play it until July it doesn't make one very motivated) and I gotta say I was not impressed with Excitetruck. Boourns.
The wiimote itself was nice.
<3 Jam
Lol, Excitetruck is definitely aimed at a simpler audience. I dunno, it could work in a multiplayer setting, I think. But definitely something kids still into Hotwheels would love.
If you could, I think it'd be definitely worth it to try and convince them to set it up so you could play another game, like Wii Sports, Monkey Ball or Trauma Center, etc. If possible, obviously.
トランジスター・グラマー: Small and compact but has all the right features.
Yeah I find that Exitetruck turns people away from the Wii more than it brings the crowd. It's not an awful game, but it's more of a "lets rent it for 5 bucks 7 day game because there's nothing better."
WiiSports = area of effect problem, you're looking @ stupid people problems.
Zelda = OMGZ ZELDA mob (ain't a problem, you get lots of customers), Trauma Center = Really fun game so that's good as well.
SMB = Haven't tried it but the gamecube one was fun.
Cars = Shoot the employee if he has this as the demo.
Red Steel = Not a bad idea, but might turn off some people.
Also I'm very tired (yet can't sleep), so please bear with my crappy Engrish.
EDIT: I'm gonna post up my Wii code later today, I wanna see what Miis you've all made.

BTW, shut up. :P
I'm very glad for you, etc. XD
