Last month, the company I work for announced that they were going to close the call center I work in. They are transitioning everyone to several new centers in Georgia. I was offered a pittance to go and a week to decide, so I am not going to move with them. I'm really tired of phone support and want to move on to new stuff. Problem is, that means as of August 1st, I am out of a job.
Soooo, anyone know of companies hiring IT Support people? I live in South Carolina, but would not mind moving to a new job.

I find at least in Australia, schools are always looking for IT Support. Otherwise, just look in the classifieds or something. Maybe try setting up your own business and doing it that way.
Dont know how far you want to move... but if you really want to go "TECH" and want to see some really heavy IT to support...
The company i work for is currently searching for IT Support in their FCs in PA.

That sucks, man, good luck!!
Good luck, dude. I haven't had a permanent job in over two years. This economy sucks ass!
Forgot to update here, but I have a job now. I found one with a local school district, running around fixing computers for them. I've had 2 full weeks of work and really like it so far. Plus, it is more money than what I was making at my last job. :D
Congrats dude. You'll find that working for schools can be pretty relaxed, or if you get the right principal you're always working on something new which sometimes isnt so good stress wise, but still pretty fun and great for resumes.
Congrats man. I "worked" at my high school as a "student TA" in Grade 12 under the IT teacher and it seemed like something that was fairly cool to do (I wouldn't want to do it forever but I could probably do it for 5-10 years just before I settle down and marry, I'd really want to advance and get a senior/supervisory/managerial position).
Really, I don't know what to do with my life though...... Once I finish my BA/BSc Geography (GIS) degree there's really nothing I want to do with it (don't get me wrong it's awesome stuff to learn just I couldn't see myself doing what they do forever). I'm now thinking I maybe should have gone to BCIT or Langara and transfered into Geotech Eng/Earth and Ocean Science, or Forestry. Well another 3-4 years of school couldn't hurt...
