OPUS Live Demonstration

Opus Art & Design media (my local art store) has invited me down to do a LIVE DEMONSTRATION about comics! If you live in Vancouver, and you're interested in making comics, this is a great opportunity to come down and hear me ramble about it for two solid hours. It's FREE, and you'll even get a little discount on art supplies, I think!

What I'll cover:

• An overview of the comic-making process:
  • 
    Writing
  • Pencilling
  • Inking
  • Colouring
  • Lettering
  • Post-Production/Publication
• For each topic: materials, theory, things to consider

It will be really high-level and will focus on using traditional media, but it should be really fun!

DO arrive before 2pm, because we have a lot to go over. To get to Opus, just take the skytrain to Stadium, walk up to Cambie, and then down towards the water to Hastings. (That's the safest way). I don't think there's much in the way of parking.

[update] Great timing! Shortly after the end of the demonstration, you'll be able to test out your new skills at the VANCOUVER COMIC JAM! Catch dinner in the area, then hop on the #3 bus (Main street) and get off at Broadway. It's RIDICULOUSLY EASY, RIDICULOUSLY FUN and you'll be able to meet lots of the local greats!
