Hooray! I'm so excited that I a) found and b) landed this job. It's going really well so far, and you'll hear more about it soon. "NorthWind" (not a real company, none of these people are real) is a design consultancy so I can't really explain "what" we do... we do a lot. Hopefully this is the last informational update for awhile, I really prefer the silly comics.

Congrats! Looks like your llama mission really paid off.
Glad to hear the Llamas were worth it.
Btw, Jam, how does Trevor feel about being waked up early?
Achievement! Llama Power! (Seriously, Congrats Jam!)
What was with the stamp guy? Were they just trying to get free work out of you a the interview? Or did they want you to stamp something that was potentially hazardous?
Congrats, BTW!
He was going to give me a week to review (and it did look rather straightforward) it but something in my instincts told me it was off :/ I was called in for an interview and he just handed me this contract without asking me any questions!
Oh I know that kind of company. In my case they are doing a huge recruitment and strangely rather than personal interview they done mass quick interviews. I became suspicious. I think they simply collecting our personal data for their own personal gain.
This guy reminds me of an interview a friend of mine and I had. In our case, the guy was asking how we'd design a certain part of their product. I suspect he had no intention of hiring us, but was just his way of getting free engineering consulting.
This guy is worse. Good call avoiding him.
Congratulations! Looks like it will be a fulfilling job for you =)
I LIKE the answer "Look it up in the product spec sheet". Takes 60 seconds and if that doesn't work, THEN you go onto the more difficult, time consuming, expensive tests.
Efficiency!
Awesome, congratulations! :D
Congrats! Good things come to those who like llamas.
All the Llama references are making me think you are all Jimmy Neutron fans. And congratulations on the job, it looks pretty cool.
Congratulations! Also; did you really send Llamas? Always looking for job tips :D
Congratulations! I need to go get a picture of myself with a llama now.
The first time I tried to post this, the site said I needed to enable Javascript. Except, hello, Firefox already has it enabled. I eventually solved the problem by disabling Java and then immediately enabling Java.
Which reminds of a great joke to tell tech support the next time they have you reboot your computer: Three engineers are riding along in a car: A mechanical engineer, an electrical engineer, and a computer engineer. The car's engine suddenly quits and the car glides to a stop.
The mechanical engineer says "I'm going to look at the engine and see what's wrong." The electrical engineer says "No, no, no, it's got to be the ignition. We need to look at the ignition." The computer engineer says, "Hey guys, I've got a bright idea. Why don't we get out of the car, shut the doors, and then get back in again?"
To be fair, it is often easier to diagnose a car than a computer, especially if one is at the car / not at the computer. Restarting is an easy thing to do that resets a lot of temporary memory and problems related to that, so it reliably fixes a small portion of possible problems. I guess the car equivalent would be flushing fluids?

In regards to your first paragraph, it seems that happens to everyone and goes away when you ignore it and resubmit (sometimes you have to do it twice). Also just for anybody who is interested Java is unrelated to Javascript except by name. The second is more pertinent to a website like this (think applets for the first, page layout and interaction for the second).
Thanks for the info on both counts, but that's still a funny joke.
several people over the last 6 months have on occasion reported this "enable javascript" bug, I have no idea why it's happening.
Waaaai waaai congrats for the new job!
Now it's time for me to chase some Llama!
Llama? or LAMA? ;) Both are awesome.
Congratulations!! Go go Llama power. There is a Llama cafe 5 mins along the road from our favourite holiday destination. Next time, I am totally going llama trekking.
Yeah, right on - Season's Greetings and belated congrats (been in N.France all week).
Congratulations, Angela! It's rare to get the job you actually want. :)
